THE STAGE with Richard Mellick
5 x week course (15-21 years)

He was Katherine Langford’s acting coach when he discovered her during a NIDA workshop he was teaching. Now, Richard Mellick is at our studio to teach a 5 x week course focussing on the highly important acting skills associated with the stage – which also come in handy for screen. Covering relaxation and breathing technique, physical and vocal development, improvisation and scene work focusing on a character’s objectives, obstacles and moment-to-moment interaction. For ages 15-21.

Richard Mellick

Richard Mellick graduated from NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts) in 1987 and has worked as an actor, director, playwright, artistic director and teacher. His work encompasses remote, regional and mainstream metropolitan theatre including Sydney Theatre Co, the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service, Black Swan State Theatre Co, Darwin Theatre Co, Deckchair Theatre, NIDA and WAAPA. He has done everything from small scale community theatre to Shakespeare at the Sydney Opera House, from musicals to heavy drama. He has made numerous appearances in Film and TV including “Parallax” “Ship to Shore” and “Lockie Leonard” An in-demand voice artist as well, you might recognize his voice as the narrator of TV’s “Who Do You Think You Are”
